The quest for balance and excellence
Located on the northwest slope of the Saint-Émilion hill, Château Montlabert benefits from exceptional terroir and exposure. This Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, renowned for its elegance and balance, cultivates its vineyard following an agro-ecological approach.
The focus on the soil and grapes extends to the vinification and blending process, ensuring wines that are true reflections of the terroir.
For over a decade, the team at Château Montlabert has been diligently and passionately crafting the personality and style of wines inspired by balance and elegance.
For over a decade, the team at Château Montlabert has been diligently and passionately defining the personality and style of wines inspired by balance and elegance.
This Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion is the result of a meticulous blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, which contributes to a well-balanced tannic structure, combining mineral notes with fleshy and delicate red fruit flavors.
More than just a second wine, La Croix de Montlabert represents the second side of the same story.
Château Montlabert also offers its second wine: La Croix de Montlabert. This fine wine from the Saint-Emilion appellation remains faithful to the philosophy guiding the production of the Grand Cru Classé.
Made with the same proportion of Merlot and Cabernet Franc as the first wine, it stands out with a beautiful quality of structure and fruity aromas, elegant tannic balance, and silky texture.
La Croix de Montlabert is the property's second wine. It is crafted from a parcel acquired in 2017, comprising eight hectares in the commune of Saint Christophe des Bardes. This terroir features clay-limestone soils and subsoils particularly conducive to expressing the qualities of Cabernet Franc.
Tasting our wines is the highlight of each of our visits and wine tourism workshops.
