The 2023 harvest begins at Château Montlabert
The grape harvesting season represents the culmination of an entire year spent tending to and meticulously caring for every aspect of the vineyard.
For Ludovic Hérault, property manager: "Even with all my experience, it's impossible to truly prepare for the harvest season, with its ups and downs, moments of frustration and fulfillment. A year's worth of hard work unfolds in just a few weeks, a few days, in a few intense hours. This is where the true "soul of the winemaker" is revealed. No matter how well we've planned ahead, we're always at the mercy of the weather. Every day, choices must be made to get the best out of our vines. And let's not forget, behind every vintage, there's a whole team, and part of my job is to pass on my passion to my colleagues. During this time, nothing is written in advance; each vintage is written differently, day by day."
