Exhibition Château Montlabert X TentÖ gallery
A Dreamlike Exhibition at Château Montlabert in Saint-Émilion.
Château Montlabert has partnered with TENTÖ gallery to host a temporary exhibition on its walls from September to December 2024. The artworks will be displayed throughout the property tour, in technical buildings and the glasshouse. This experience, blending art and wine, will immerse you in the dreamlike worlds of two talented painters, Laëtitia De Welfes and Clément Bellanger.
Clément Bellanger's universe invites you into a dreamlike world; each of his canvases tells a story, a dream in which everyone can freely immerse themselves.
Laëtitia De Welfes, on the other hand, has worked on a series of previously unseen canvases that reflect the colors of Saint-Émilion wines. Each piece expresses a connection between men, women, and the earth, incorporating curves, ancient figures, and other symbols drawn from the artist’s memories.
ABOUT TENTÖ GALLERY
TENTÖ is a young art gallery based in Bordeaux, located on Rue Bouffard, the former antique dealers' street, just steps from Place Gambetta in Bordeaux. Founded in 2022 by a young art-loving couple, Charles and Naomi, it represents the work of talented artists from the contemporary graphic scene who have a message or aesthetic to share.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
- LAËTITIA DE WELFES
Trained at the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, she went on to pursue a double master's in visual arts and art history at Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg. After several years of teaching, she decided to formalize her artistic practice.
As far as she can remember, it has always been the harmony of a place, the beauty of a painting, the delicacy of an object, the balance of a building, and the clarity of a sunbeam on a landscape that capture Laëtitia de Welfes' attention. The elegance of the visual, the joy of contemplating beauty, what makes art possible.
As art historian, she draws clear inspiration from the essentialist dimensions of Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Jean Cocteau. Ancient figures also form part of the artist’s imagination, which she recreates through the prism of her memories of Italy. She taps into her formal and chromatic repertoire to create in each work a sensitive and poetic universe that echoes her childhood memories and emotions and questions the relationships between beings.
- CLÉMENT BELLANGER
Thanks to a family who practiced painting and sculpture as hobbies, Clément Bellanger was able to start experimenting with his creativity from a young age without shyness. His educational choices set him on the path to developing his own graphic style. From there, he just needed to work on this sensitivity, graphically expressing what catches his eye at first glance and sharing this passion with others.
Speaking of the eye, for him, the gaze is the central element of his current projects. Whether visible to the viewer or not, he wants the gaze to be the masterpiece of his work. When the eye is present, it captivates you, it sends you emotions, and when the eye is absent, you are intrigued.
In his pictorial work, Clément places great importance on the composition of color. He perceives expressions such as kindness and joy through colors, which burst forth in every situation. Colors are the expression of the soul of each being, and one must know how to reveal their beauty.
Technically, he does not want to stick to one style but to explore and challenge it to go further. He likes making mistakes because they confront him with accidents that can give another perspective to the work.
